Company Storyline

1975
The Beginning

From a small artisan workshop in a rapidly developing commercial Vignola, the first small production site for Spalanzani branded products was established. At the time, production mainly consisted of hand-tied coppa, crafted with extreme passion and dedication by the first generation of a brand that would continue to evolve over the years. Coppa would later become the true symbol representing the company.

1978
The Turning Point

This year marked a major turning point, as production moved from a small artisan workshop to the construction of a manufacturing facility capable of meeting the commercial demands of that period. Alongside the increased demand and production of coppa, new products such as pancetta and filone were introduced, opening up new commercial opportunities and responding to customer requests.

1994
The Second Generation

With the arrival of the second generation, innovative improvements were introduced in production machinery in order to increase output and satisfy the continuously growing market demand. This new production and commercial vision marked the transition from a small family passion project born in an artisan workshop into a constantly developing and expanding company, aiming to establish itself in increasingly large and competitive national and international markets. During this period, the facility was also expanded with the construction of office spaces.

2004
The Third Generation

The third generation officially entered the company under the sole leadership of Giuseppe Passini.

2011
The Fire

September 16, 2011, is sadly remembered in the history of the facility. During the night, an accidental fire caused by a short circuit completely destroyed the production plant, sparing only the office building. Despite the discouragement, the determination and passion of Giuseppe and his wife Sandra, together with the support of important local authorities, made it possible to begin designing, planning, and eventually rebuilding the new Spalanzani Salumi production facility on the very same site.

2013
The Restart

2013 marked the company’s fresh start.

Countless technological innovations were introduced in the new facility. Thanks to the use of anthropomorphic robots and digital automation, it became possible to create a fully automated loading/unloading, handling, weighing, and washing system that could also be remotely controlled, making the company extremely advanced.

In addition, cured meat production was expanded by adding several types of salami to the product range.

In the following years, while resuming business with both old and new customers, the company worked to expand into new international markets and obtained Export certifications for:

        Japan
        Hong Kong
        Canada
        Brazil
        Chile
        Thailand
        Vietnam

2018
Export Certifications

In 2018, the company obtained its most important Export certification, making trade with the United States of America possible and creating highly significant commercial partnerships.
